4th Sunday in Australia

Although this house is big and quite comfortable, it has been giving us lots of problems. First, the light in my housemate's toilet blew. Then, my bedroom light went out. Now, my hot water tap is not working. There's a hot water tap and a cold water tap. Just like in the hotel bathrooms, you have to turn both to get the water temperature right. Initially, I was not familiar with the water taps and would either scald or freeze myself. Now, hot water refuse to come out no matter how I turn. I end up using my housemate's bathroom to shower. Of course, I'll have to call the real estate people again tomorrow. I wonder how long they'll take to send a plumber over this time.

Lunch today was 'Meatball Carbonara Pasta'. My housemates bought a recipe book recently and this was made by a combination of two different recipes. The meatball was made ourselves using lamb meat mince, bread crumbs and onions. Adeline minced the lamb meat herself and Jie Ying tried to make bread crumbs by toasting the bread and crushing it. Half-way through the preparation, we decided that next time we should just buy those ready made bread crumbs instead. It's not really expensive ($0.89 for a big packet) and would save us a lot of time and trouble. The end result was quite worth the trouble though. The pasta and meatball taste is almost restaurant standard and is much much better than Pastamania. Although like all cream-based pasta, always eat in moderation.
Dessert after dinner was 'Banana Split'. We really do know how to pamper ourselves. Haha... However, this dessert is not likely to be seen again anytime soon as bananas is really very expensive over here. Usually, 1kg of banana cost at least $6. We went supermarket on Thursday and saw this banana offer going on at $3.99 per kg. We were really very excited and bought a bunch. Guess what? That bunch of six bananas cost us almost $6, which means each single banana is almost $1! I think my blood potassium level is going to be low again by the end of the year.
